What does it mean to be a Christian School Parent?
A.
We pray that Redeemer’s parents will train their child in the way of the Lord, nurture the development of their child’s faith by encouraging their child through instruction and by example to live a life of faith, prayer, worship and service to the Lord. We pray that the parents would pray for family, church, and school, and take an active and involved interest in the education of their child.
What does it mean to be a Christian School Teacher?
A.
The Redeemer Lutheran faculty and staff are committed to working with families in helping to nurture the development of the whole child. It is the purpose of the school to be an extension of the home in Christian training. We wish to work with children and parents who are willing to walk with us in oneness of spirit and purpose. This oneness is based on a common value system, support for one another and cooperation. The strong partnership between the school and the home is an essential element in educating the whole child.
What’s the main difference between a Christian school and a public school?
A.
At Redeemer we are able to offer not only an academically challenging curriculum, but a Christ-centered environment where students grow spiritually as well as intellectually, physically, and socially. The love and forgiveness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is evident each and every day at Redeemer.
The Christian Day School Board governs Redeemer Lutheran School. It consists of four elected members from the congregation, School Principal, Preschool Director, Christian Care Center Director, and the Pastor. The board meets monthly to review and establish policy and monitor progress.
How does our curriculum differ from that of area public schools?
A.
Redeemer follows not only California State Standards, but standards set forth by the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, as well.
You may contact the school office at 909-986-6510 with questions you may have, or log on to our website at www.redeemer4me.com for additional information.
What is the relationship between the church and school?
A.
Redeemer Lutheran School is a vital component of the ministry of Redeemer Lutheran Church. The church plays an essential role in supporting the school children and parents. Redeemer Lutheran Church funds a portion of the school budget. It also helps the partnership through Bible classes for all ages, youth ministries, and men’s and women’s ministries.
Are teachers at Redeemer required to have certification, like in public schools?
A.
All teachers have obtained either a State Credential and/or a Lutheran Teaching Diploma from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We are proud to have four teachers with Masters Degrees on our staff.
